Roger Dubuis Excaliber Silicium
This morning at the Roger Dubuis opening at SIHH, where the brand featured a larger-than-life gold-painted Eagle sculpture with a 45-foot wing span, Roger Dubuis unveiled its newest Excalibur Quatuor watch. The worldwide patented timepieces features four spring balance wheels and five differentials to compensate for the effects of gravity much like a double tourbillon would. The watch is offered in 18-karat rose gold. Each watch takes 2400 hours to create, with 720 of those hours being used to do the meticulous Poinçon de Geneve techniques for finishing the movement. The new watch is created in a limited edition of 88 pieces, each retailing for $422,000. Going a step further, the brand releases just 3 pieces of this watch in a case crafted of silicium and holding a worldwide patent for the case material. Each of those three pieces will retail for $1 million. Because of the rarity of the piece, Roger Dubuis has it displayed in a glass globe, which is held by the huge eagle statue.
