Seiko Unveils Limited Edition 2020 Novak Djokovic Astron Solar GPS watch
For the past five years, Japanese brand Seiko has partnered with tennis legend Novak Djokovic, even creating an eponymous timepiece in his honor. Now, for the new decade, Seiko unveils an all-new 2020 limited edition watch. The Novak Djokovic Limited Edition Astron GPS Solar watch honors the tennis star and is incredible records (including 16 Grand Slam victories and 34 ATP Tour Masters 1000 wins). Coming off of a strong 2019, where he won the Australian Open and Wimbledon, as well as three other tournaments, including his first in Japan, Djokovic honors his home flag of Serbia, and the Japanese flag, with colors from both on the new watch.
Red and white are colors shared by both flags and are used for accent colors on the new watch, whose dial is a rich blue indicative of the Serbian flag. A Universal time piece, the watch features an outer chapter ring in white with blue numerals for the indicator ring at the +1 and +9 positions respectively. The blue ceramic bezel is outlined with a thin red line for subtle appeal.
The new watch is powered by the GPS Solar Caliber 5X53 Dual-Time that connects up to twice a day to the GPS network to maintain its precision anywhere in the world. It adjusts automatically to Daylight Saving Time, and, when the wearer changes time zones, a simple push of a button automatically moves the hands to the correct local time. The wearer is also able to change the main time display instantly from home to local time and back. Just 1,500 pieces of the Novak Djokovic Astron GPS Solar watch will be made. It is sold in a presentation box with an additional silicon strap.It will retail for about $2,600.
