I can’t believe I am saying this, but burgundy may just be better than cabernet. With a Perpetual Calendar, Tourbillon and Center Seconds version of the Heritage already in its lineup, independent Swiss watch brand H. Moser & Cie. now unveils a new much-coveted complication: the Dual Time watch. The sleek and attractive Heritage Dual Time watch is powered by the all-new HMC 809 caliber with three days (minimum) of power reserve. The new movement was made expressly for this watch and boasts a module that was developed entirely in-house by the brand. It is affixed to the H. Moser self-winding caliber.

Like other Heritage models, the Heritage Dual Time takes its design inspiration from the early Moser pocket watches and so is generously proportioned. The dual time zone — designed for the adventurous soul — is depicted using a gray hand that tucks away behind the main hours hand when not in use. The date is also displayed at 6:00 for harmonious balance and is connected to the dual time zone.
Adding to the great functionality, H. Moser & Cie never disappoints when it comes to aesthetics and this watch has it all. The round watch with classic touches measures 42mm in diameter and is crafted in stainless steel with tapered lugs and a notched crown that offers modern attitude. The burgundy fume’ dial – a specialty of the brand – is aglow with hues of rich burgundy that shimmer in the light even better than a great glass of cabernet.

Endowing the watch with a real purist appeal, another signature of H. Moser, the brand opts for a see-through logo. One can barely see the name – created using a transparent lacquer — on the dial ,adding a mystique and allure to the “insiders’” watch. The minute track is in white, offering a nice contrast and the sword-shaped hands boast a Super-LumiNova coating to glow in the dark. The applied numerals also glow thanks to an innovative ceramic-based material known as Globolight® that contains Super-LumiNova but that can also be customized in color or shape. The watch is finished with a gray kudu leather strap, although, I personally would love a burgundy (or even cabernet) strap instead. The impressive timepiece retails for $21,900.
