Longines HydroConquest Green watch
Last week in New York City, Longines unveiled some of its newest watches for the year, and green took center stage in the form of the new khaki-green colored HydroConqust Automatic watch. The diver’s timepiece — water resistant to 300 meters — features a bold green dial, matching green polished ceramic bezel and green textured rubber strap.
THe Longines HydroConquest Green watch is sold with either a textured rubber strap or a steel bracelet with diver’s extension. $1,600.
The watch also is equipped with Super-luminescent hands and markers, and features a date indication at 3:00.The ratcheted bezel is unidirectional to ensure proper function. The case is 43mm in diameter and is crafted in brushed stainless steel. In typical Longines style, the brand ensures the water resistance of the case with a screw-down crown and a solid screw-down case back. Naturally, the sapphire crystal is coated with anti-reflective coating several layers deep for easy underwater reading and no glare.
Like its HydroConquest black, gray and blue siblings, this watch is powered by the self-winding L888.3 caliber that was developed by ETA exclusively for Longines, it beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour and offers a nice 64 hours of power reserve. It is also offered with a steel link bracelet with double-security folding clasp and a divers’ extension for those who prefer a bracelet to the textured rubber strap. In either version, it retails for a pretty cool $1,600.

According to Longines CEO Walter Von Känel, the green HydroConquest rounds out the brand’s color ways. “We aren’t into unusual colors. We leave that to the fashion brands. But we like showing color where it is relevant and this dive watch in green makes sense. It was always blue that was king, but now green is coming up in demand.”
