Every two years in the watch industry, something truly special happens: 50 top watch brands create a single timepiece to donate to the Only Watch Auction, with 99 percent of the proceeds going to benefit research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. (Thus far more than 40 million Swiss Francs has been raised in the first seven auctions.) On November 9, 2019, the 8th edition takes place, but it is preceded by an extensive world tour exhibitions starting in Monaco in September and then traveling to Dubai, Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei and Geneva. Here we showcase one of the only comprehensive looks at the timepieces being auctioned, but over the upcoming months we will bring you news and more details of the various brands and timepieces.
Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and due to the initiative of Luc Pettavino, President of the Association Monégasque Contre les Myopathies (and founder and organizer of Only Watch), Only Watch this year roles out the spotlight on 52 watch brands participating, with 50 lots being auctioned. The goal is to surpass 2017’s sales of just about $11 million.
