Zannetti Piranha Dive Watch
Divers’ watches are typically rugged timepieces meant to withstand the toughest elements. The best dive watches on the market today typically are defined by certain important characteristics. Essentially, a dive watch should be water resistant to at least a Diver’s International Organization for Standardization (ISO) rating of 200 meters to 300 meters and offer additional functions or features that would be helpful underwater. Often dive watches are COSC-certified chronometers, as well, indicating their ruggedness. Other features include SuperLuminova hands and markers for underwater reading, anti-glare crystals, and ratcheted bezels.

This new watch from Zannetti — the Piranha watch—definitely has all the attributes technically speaking of a real scuba divers watch. The question is, do you really want to see a piranha on your wrist while underwater? The engraved bone dial of this watch features a hand-painted enamel piranha – with mouth open and large teeth exposed – not at all what one would expect from a dive watch. The limited edition timepiece is water resistant to 550 meters, features a steel case with automatic helium release valve and unidirectional bezel. It is equipped with a seaworthy rubber strap. The design of the watch dial was conceived of and drawn by Ricardo Zannetti and then translated by artists onto the dial.
