Some jewelers live by the “go big or go home” rule. C.D. Peacock Jewelers in Chicago just went big. The retail establishment has been named the Official Jewelry and Watch Partner for the Chicago Cubs, which includes signage rights to the premier entrance of Wrigley Field and the sponsor of a new ballpark Trophy Room. The trophy room will house the 2016 World Series Championship trophy.
The two formed a multi-year partnership that will also witness C.D. Peacock designing custom jewelry inspired by the Cubs and Wrigley field later this year. The retailer — established in 1837 — will also be the presenting sponsor of a new award, Cubs Player of the Month, that will highlight different player each month and that player will be decided on via social media polls among fans.
“We’re thrilled to add another historic Chicago-based and family-owned company to the Cubs family,” said Cubs President of Business Operations Crane Kenney. “Through this partnership and the creation of the new trophy room, fans will be able to view the 2016 World Series Championship trophy from inside Wrigley Field for the first time ever. We are excited to share this viewing area, and the creation of the Cubs jewelry collection, with fans this season.”
C.D. Peacock is family owned and operated — led by there generations of the Holtzman family — and the original establishment was the first of its kind in Chicago. Today, there are three locations.
