This fall is chocked full of great events for watch lovers — especially those in or traveling to New York City. Of particular note is the WatchTime exhibition, held by one of America’s leading watch-specialty publications, WatchTime Magazine. Beginning on Friday evening the 23rd of October with a cocktail event and some presentations, the event continues all day Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm — guests can view a star-studded line up of 15 luxury watch brands.
Held at Manhattan’s elegant Gotham Hall, the exhibit will showcase some timepieces never before seen in the USA. Watch lovers can mingle with brand executives, industry experts and watch afficiaonados. Both days will feature presentations and Q&A opportunities with WatchTime editor-in-chief and veteran watch-industry journalist Joe Thompson, who has been selected to be awarded the Lifetime Achievement honor by the Jewelers of America. Additionally, Anish Bhatt, founder of the f watch-and-lifestyle site WatchAnish.com and of the explosive instagram site of the same name. Several exhibiting brands will also have profesional watchmakers demonstrating their trade at work benches to educate consumers about the watchmaking process.
For a little added flavor, some non-watch exhibitors will be on hand, including BMW, which will have its 7 Series model on site, Delta Airlines, which is offering discounted tickets and will host a life-size first class cabin with flight attendant service, SLH Hotel Group, which will offer discounted rooms for out-of-town attendees. Special raffles and other delights are also being offered by media partners Afar, Wine Enthusiast, and The Atlantic.
Watch brands exhibiting include A. Lange & Sohne, Armin Strom, Arnold & Son, Bell & Ross, Blancpain, Breguet, Carl F. Bucherer, Emmanuel Bouchet, F. P. Meanwhile, that same weekend, three is a concurrent show: Wind-Up New York City. This event — showcasing more value-conscious brands — is free and open to the public.
