Harmony Ultra-Thin Grande Complication Chronograph
Vacheron Constantin is the only watch brand in the world that can claim 260 years of continuous production. It is a tribute the likes of which legends are made. This year, in honor of its 260 years, the brand unveiled an all new collection at SIHH in January, and with seven different versions just hitting stores now.
Aptly named the Harmony collection, the watches are inspired by the past, but with an eye to the future. The cushion shape is derived from a chronograph the brand first introduced back in 1928, yet the renditions are timeless. Making the series even more alluring is the fact that the new watches are ultra thin and — like all Vacheron Constantin watches — meticulously finished.
Harmony Small Dual Time with diamonds
Harmony boasts five new calibers — each bearing the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva seal (read more about that quality certification here). The line — which was seven years in the making — consists of medium complications (dual times and chronographs) and a Grand Complication, as well as a tourbillon — and is designed for both men and women. Here we bring you a rundown of the limited edition watches that comprise this series and mark a new milestone in Vacheron Constantin’s history.
The Harmony Ultra-Thin Grande Complication Chronograph (Split-seconds with tourbillon) is the world’s thinnest self-winding split-seconds mono-pusher rattrapante chronograph. The movement, caliber 3500, developed in house by Vacheron Constantin, consists of 459 parts and measures just 5.20 mm thick. It features a gold peripheral oscillating weight and a a split-second mono pusher chronograph. Just 10 pieces will be made in platinum – with the final case measuring 8.40 mm thick. The case back is engraved with the number and the words “260th Anniversary.”
Harmony Dual Time offered in rose gold or white gold
The Harmony Dual Time watch (Ref. 7810s) is offered n rose gold or in white gold. It houses the mechanical self-winding Caliber 2460DT wit h 233 parts and a decorated oscillating weight. The second time zone indication is offered in a sundial at 4:00 with an am/pm aperture at 8:00 for harmonious balance. Each is created in a limited edition of 625 pieces. There is also a small dual time model set with 88 diamonds on the bezel. Crafted in 18-karat white gold, that version is a limited edition of 500 watches.
The Harmony Tourbillon Chronograph (Ref 5100s) houses the caliber 3200 and is an exception technical combined with 292 parts in the manual wind movement. The chronograph is a mono pusher with hand-engraved bridge. The watch is cased in platinum and built in a limited edition of 26 individually numbered pieces.
Vacheron Constantin Harmony Tourbillon Monopusher Chronograph
Other models include a mechanical manual-wind mono pusher chronograph with pulsimetric scale that is modeled after the original 1920’s Doctor’s piece. The 252-part Caliber 3300 movement features a hand-engraved balance cock, a dragging 45-minute counter and 65 hours of power reserve. Also, to reduce friction, the watch is configured with a lateral clutch. Offered in 5N rose gold, this beauty is created in a limited edition of 260 pieces and is my favorite of the lot.
