Ok well this Claude Bernard watch doesn’t actually play Jazz- but it would if it could– to the tunes of Charlie Parker. The Swiss-made Birdland watch is created to celebrate a partnership between this watch brand and the famed Birdland jazz club in New York City. The club — one of New York City’s oldest jazz clubs and one of the most iconic in the USA — this year celebrates 65 years of music history.
The design of the limited edition watch was inspired by Birdland’s rich history and by Charlie Parker, who was known to friends as Bird and who was the headliner when the club first opened. Parker was said to be the genius of the alto saxophone. As such, the dial of the watch features the Birdland logo and an image of the alto saxophone. Meticulously crafted, the elegant watch is created in an edition of just 650 pieces.
The watch houses an automatic Swiss-made caliber that is visible via a transparent sapphire caseback. A silhouette of Charlie Parker playing his alto saxophone seemingly floats on the back. The 42mm stainless steel watch is water resistant to 50 meters and is delivered with a numbered certificate. Making this watch even more alluring is the price: its $950 retail price will have you singing.
