Race car fans and lovers of all things Italian – keep an eye out for the newest series of Ritmo Mundo Watches. The Turismo (which in Italian translates to tourism) watch collection was inspired not only by the vintage road rally but also – perhaps – by the fictitious car in the famed video game, Grand Theft Auto (that car resembles a Ferrari F40 in San Andreas and in Grand Theft Auto IV it was based on a Ferrari 360 Modena). The Ritmo Mundo Turismo is a GT inspired design.
So what makes the Ritmo Mundo Turismo watch so sporty and car related? First, its large 46mm case size makes it bold but not so large that it is cumbersome. Additionally, the rounded case gives it sleek, sporty appeal. The pushers and onion crown give it a stop-watch-like effect. Among the Turismo stainless steel models: Turismo RG Silver (a rose gold plated steel watch with silver dial), and steel cased versions with gray, black, silver or rose gold colored dials.
I particularly like the dial of the steel version with what they peg as a rose gold dial. In fact, the dial is a big, bold bronze face with printed outer tracks and bold Arabic numerals that are easy to see. The 12 hour subdial of the chronograph watch features a bright red hand and the main dial hands are luminous. The watch is perfectly finished with a genuine leather strap in chocolate hue, and a big buckle that makes it comfortable on the wrist. It is a quartz timepiece powered by a Japanese Miyota chronograph movement. If you’re looking for that sporty kind of watch that makes you feel like you are driving a Ferrari, look no further. Added bonus: it’s water resistant to 5 ATM and reasonably priced at $1200.
