German-based watch brand Alexander Shorokhoff has a talent for creating innovative watches. Such is the case with the newest 100-piece limited edition Kandy Avantgarde watch, which is dedicated to the well-known artist Vassily Kandinsky.

Russian-born designer Alexander Shorokov — founder of the brand — was inspired to create teh Kandy Avantgarde by the multiple requests that he received from customers. It was several years ago that the brand released a women’s watch, the Miss Avantgarde, which was so popular it became a best-seller for the brand. Since then, many men have requested a follow-up. Now, Shorokhoff delivers.
The Kandy Avantgarde watch brings together geometry, color, and a wealth of symbols in a single dial. Rather than create chaos, though, these elements all come together in a balanced mix of light and fascination. The cushion-cornered square case lends itself nicely to the circular dial within an outer soft-cornered square black-and-white striped background. The inner circular dial boasts orange, pale blue, bright green, red-and-white swirls, a black-and-white checkerboard and more — all designed in pie-chart format. Even the case is a study in harmony. The stainless steel case features rose gold and black PVD-coated wires set into grooves. The watch offers hours, minutes, seconds and date indication. It is powered by the ETA 2892 caliber and the rotor is hand-engraved. It retails for $2,850 — not a bad price for a work of art on the wrist.
