Looking to an edgy way to wear your beloved Apple Series 5 smart watch? For anywhere from about $500 to $1200 you can now purchase an outer case for your smart watch that gives it a super-charged dynamic new look. Luxury accessories company GRAY® unveils the Cyber Watch® Case collection for the new Apple Watch Series 5. The dramatic looking case allows the wearer to fit their Apple watch inside — giving it a totally different, highly futuristic look.
Currently the cases are just on pre-order availability. They won’t ship until June, but the brand’s high-tech website reveals that many a case has already been pre-ordered. Gray(R), based in Singapore, is known for its architectural accessories, including card wallets, writing instruments and iPhone covers.
The Cyber Watch cases are being created in four different versions — three in limited editions — all designed for the 44mm Series 5 Apple watch. The case structure consists of two aerospace-grade titanium elements within which the watch is fitted. The Cyber Watch case kit is also sold with a custom-designed watch band made of FKM® — a fluoroelastomer material that is also light weight and high- performance intended. The strap can also be purchased separately for $148.
Versions include a textured Titanium model with black FKM strap that is the opening price point at $498. There is also a Stealth model in black PVD titanium for $699. Just 100 pieces of this version will be made. Jumping up a bit in price is the Gold PVD coated titanium model, of which just 50 will be made– each selling for $901. At the top of the price spectrum, and also, in my opinion, the coolest look, is the Aurora. This Cyber Watch case is individually hand torched to achieve an unparalleled range of colors. Just 50 will be made, each selling for $1,209.
“In creating the CYBER WATCH® we were motivated by one ambition, to create a sculpture for the Apple Watch that truly represented the ground-breaking technology it houseswithin,” said Kevin Wu, Founder and CEO of GRAY®. “To do so, we had to bring our touch of extreme design to a new frontier, radically transforming the Apple Watch into an object that would look as stunning on your wrist today as it will a hundred years from now.”
