Bidding for the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar “Toto Wolff x Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team” watch started on June 30 at 40,000 Euro. All proceeds go to the charity, Ignite.
Last week, we let you in on the fact that there was a last chance to bid on the last IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition Toto Wolff x Merceds-AMG Petronas Formula One(TM) Team timepiece that was being auctioned by Bonhams for charity. Initially just 100 of this tribute watch were made and this one, number 50, was going up for auction. Well, it has sold — fetching more than $192,000 for charity.
The successful bidder – a US-based motorsport enthusiast and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1™ fan – also won a behind-the-scenes tour of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1™ Team Operations Centre and HQ in Oxfordshire, plus an exclusive 10-minute video call with Toto Wolff himself, as part of the one-off package.
All proceeds from the sale are being donated to Ignite, a joint charitable initiative operated by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1™ and Sir Lewis Hamilton to support greater diversity and inclusion in Motorsport.
