Thursday November 15 is a big day in watchmaking as the 12th annual Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) announces the winners of this large award program. Every year we cover this event — held at the Grand Theatre de Genève – via live streaming. We will again bring the news of this year’s winners later today.
Watches compete in the following categories: Ladies; Men’s; Innovation; Jewelry and artistic crafts; best complicated watch; sports watch; “LaPetite Aiguille.” A total of 70 timepieces were nominated for these awards. Following the award ceremony, the three finalist watches in each of the categories—as well as winners of the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix and the Prix du Public—will be exhibited at the Swiss Embassy in Moscow. A showcase for Swiss watchmaking around the world, the GPHG also champions Geneva’s reputation as a watchmaking capital.
