This year, Jacob & Co. came on strong at BaselWorld with a huge new exhibition space in Hall 1 and an entirely new watch and jewelry unveiling. Top among the new lines is the Palatial collection: Palatial Jump hour; retrograde minute; tourbillon. Also in the line: big dates and extra-thin automatics.
Each Palatial complicated watch is crafted in a 44mm titanium case with 18-karat 4N pink gold crown. The Palatial Tourbillon HM features a stunning blue sapphire crystal, with a dial with traditional Roman numerals and hands in rose gold. This watch houses the manually wound Jacob & Co. MHC-manufactured caliber JCO1351with 194 components and 29 jewels. It offers hours, minutes and 100 hours of power reserve. The movement is equipped with a titanium balance with gold timing screws, and all surfaces are finely finished. Fitted with a blue alligator strap, the watch is water resistant to 30 meter. Just 36 pieces will be made. The Jump Hour version, with one-minute flying tourbillon escapement at 6:00, features a retrograde minute hand and a jump hour window at 10:00. Also in the Palatial line are 42mm ultra-thin (6.8mm) automatic pieces and the Palatial Big Date mechanical watch. Each is classic yet modern and totally alluring.
