British born actor Clive Owen deftly narrates the new movie that celebrates Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 180th anniversary and heralds its many years of patents and inventions. The movie, first shown at the brand’s recent anniversary celebration in Venice (which you can read about here) depicts a couple of minutes behind the scenes with this iconic brand. Meanwhile, Owens (star of such films as Derailed, Sin City, Children of Men, Hemingway & Gellhorn) recently visited the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture in Switzerland’s Valle’e de Joux where he toured the workshops.
“Watchmaking has always been a passion for me,” says Owen. “The mechanism and the history of Jaeger-LeCoultre watches are fascinating. It combines everything one could expect of a quality watch; the countless hours of meticulous work make it a splendid object that is extremely elegant on the wrist. The level of precision is truly impressive.”

LeCoultre & Cie, in fact, became the first Manufacture of the Valle’e de Joux. Today, in the brand’s workshops, more than 180 skills that are required to develop and produce the most complicated of the brands watches – are all undertaken with great care and meticulous attention.
