It isn’t everyday that a new watch brand makes its debut on the market. But California-based ALOR® fine jewelry’s line of intriguing and affordable Swiss-made timepieces definitely caught our eye. While the collection is for men and women, the women’s watches are particularly impressive.
ALOR — a family run company started in 1979 by husband and wife team Jack and Sandy Zemer—has a signature design in18-karat gold and stainless steel cable jewelry that it carries through its collections. Now, with Jack and Sandy’s sons Tal and Ori firmly entrenched in the family business, the brothers have launched ALOR Swiss Watches.
In a world where great women’s watches are hard to find at an affordable price point, ALOR has stepped up the game. ALOR ® Swiss Watches pay homage to today’s busy woman with a collection of top-quality craftsmanship timepieces that are at once extremely fashion forward yet timeless.
The watches fall into several very distinctive lines, and range in retail price from $695 to just under $4,000. There are five collections in the initial unveiling, each of which has its own strong identity. including a ceramic round series, a round line with a double bezel design, an oval watch and more. Among the collections: ALOR (a double bezel round watch, offered in single or dual tone metals, with cable bracelets
or leather straps); Valenti (a round watch with highly decorative dial with sub seconds dial, elliptical shaped inner design and markers fro intricate play on shapes); Cavo ( a ceramic collection offered with ceramic bracelet, metal-and ceramic bracelet, or cable bracelet); Forte ( a stunning chronograph series with modern appeal and Roman numerals); 1979 (a dual-bezel watch).
Easily one of the most exciting collections is the 1979. It is a whimsical and alluring series that features a detached dual bezel – yielding a slightly moveable case within an outer bezel that allows for a playful yet incredibly elegant take on time. The goal for next year is to also incorporate some mechanical watches in to the line. All of the ALOR watches are offered on leather straps, or link bracelets, or on intricately made woven cable bracelets that require incredible precision and technology to create. Many pieces feature mother-of-pearl dials and diamond accents.
