Cameron Diaz, the vibrant California-born actress who won hearts in the film The Holiday, as well as in roles such as My Best Friend’s Wedding, There’s Something About Mary, Charlie’s Angels and Being John Malkovich, is one of TAG Heuer’s top ambassadors and the face behind the brand’s newest Link Lady timepiece collection. Here, in an exclusive interview (which can be found in more detail in LA Confidential magazine), she shares her thoughts on time and TAG Heuer.
How does time play a role in your everyday life?
“Time is such an important part of my everyday life. Keeping track of time helps me determine how much time I have to work, play, lounge around, create, sleep, exercise…just about do anything. During the busy times in my life, I keep very close track of time so that I can make the most of my day. And during the times that I am less busy, time feels like a luxury. I am never without gratitude towards time.”
Do you remember the first watch you ever owned?
“The first watch I ever bought myself was a TAG Heuer dive watch, which I actually used for diving. It was my prized possession and I wore it for years as a fashion statement, as well as for the utility of it.”
Why did you agree to become an ambassador for TAG Heuer?
“I am usually very resistant to advertising campaigns, but I like that they are and have always been innovators. And I thought that time itself was something that was relevant to everyone’s life.”
Now that you’ve visited their workshops in Switzerland, what do you think?
“To witness for myself the integrity, dedication, innovation and passion that create the architecture of this company was really quite impactful. It gave the pride that I already felt being associated with the brand a massive infusion. I find myself not only being proud of being associated with them but I also want to make them proud of me.”
