One of the key colors of the year in watchmaking is blue — a warm hue that makes for one of the most alluring watch dials when on the wrist. Now, Nomos Glashütte unveils an exciting new family of Neomatik watches with midnight blue dial and colorful accents. In August, the brand released the Tetra nematic Nacthblau as a teaser, however now Nomos fans can get their hands on the Metro Neomatik, Tangente Neomatik, and Minimatik Neomatik Nachtblau — just in time for the holidays and to start the new year off right.
The inspiration for the midnight blue dial coloring comes from the use of blue in artistry to represent infinity, the midnight sky and e sea. The manufacturer sees blue as a more poetic and elegant, and offers a more refined character. As a result the color has been superseding black in terms of preference for the German watch manufacturer.
Powered by the automatic calibre DUW 3001, the latest in-house movement was produced by Nomos this spring and measures a scant 3.2 millimeters in height. It features the Nomos swing system with tempered blue balance spring and offers 42 hours of power reserve. Movement includes incablock shock protection, Glashutte three-quarter plate, decentralized seconds, stop seconds mechanism. It is all hand finished with Glashutte ribbing and Nomos prologue.
The slender build give the watch a sleek look and will slide easily under the cuff of a shirt.These new models will be in stores this month … time to start checking boxes off your holiday shopping list. Retail prices: Tangente neomatik nachtblau: $3,580; Minimatik nachtblau, $3,800;
