Francois-Paul Joune is donating a watchmaking class with him as part of the Horological Society of NY / Christie’s auction.
The Horological Society of New York, America’s first watchmaking guild, founded in1866, announces the 2019 Gala and Charity Auction event. This event is earmarked as one of the best horological evenings and this year, the organization is moving the dinner and auction to a new location at the Manhattan Penthouse with breathtaking views of the New York City Skyline. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 17, and is filled with a host of presentations and awards.
The Horological Society of New York is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the art and science of horology. At the dinner, the Henry B. Fried Scholarship will be awarded. This consists of multiple $10,000 awards to assist students attending full-time watchmaking schools in America. There will also be a charity auction, presented by Christie’s, with exceptional lots of watches, horological paraphernalia and even one-of-a-kind experiences being up for grabs. Among those experiences being auctioned: a private watchmaking class with taste watchmaker Francois-Paul Journe, a trip to Switzlerand and a session with an A. Lange & Sohne master watchmaker. All proceeds from the charity auction go towards the Horological Society of New York’s ongoing educational programs.
Other experiences are also being offered throughout the evening, which consists of a cocktail reception, dinner and live music. Tickets to the gala are $200 each, and for a table of 10, $1,500. Tickets are available for sale now.
