Never content to rest on its laurels, independent watch brand Armin Strom continues to build on the success of the rose gold and stainless steel Mirrored Force Resonance watches that it has garnered amongst the watch collecting world. Now the brand teams with independent master watchmaker, Kari Voutilainen, adding an option of a hand-executed guilloche dial — created by the master himself.
For those who may be unaware, Armin Strom offers a significant level of bespoke beauty for buyers looking to customize their timepiece. The brand even offers a watch configurator to do this online. The newest option — hand-crafted guilloche dials — simply steps it up a notch. The guilloche’ dial is available in a number of colors, including blue, black, anthracite, red or bi-color, as well as in a variety of patterns ranging from sun-ray, to concentric waves or barleycorn.
In keeping with the brand’s desire to produce the best quality product, the partnership with Voutilainen for the creation of the guilloche dials, was a smart move. The dials are manufactured in Voutilainen’s Môtiers-based workshop, on century-old engine-turning lathes, which can only be controlled by hand. As a result each intricate pattern is unique, achieved via precision, care and incredible expertise. An additional CHF 5,000 is added to the cost of the Mirrored Force Resonance when a hand-created guilloche’ dial by Voutilainen is selected. Our impressions: you can’t get a more realistic, striking guilloche dial then one done by a master like Kari.
