The background of the 44mm watch features a rich blue made of hundreds of pure ruthenium crystals for a sparkle that resembles aventurine glass. Ruthenium is one of the hardest metals on Earth and belongs to the platinum family. While they are found together in the same ore, separating them is a complex process, making ruthenium 10 times rarer than platinum, and harder to manipulate.
