Last week Atimelyperspective was the only site given the inside story about Franck Muller releasing The Reggie Jackson Collection this week at Tourneau Time Machine in New York. Now we bring you a quick look at the watches (with more details and an interview with Reggie Jackson coming soon). This evening, at a special by-invitation-only event at the Tourneau Time Machine, guests gathered to meet the famed Yankee legend Reggie Jackson in person and to see the newest watch that bears his name and signature look: The Franck Muller Reggie Jackson Collection – for which Tourneau is the exclusive retailer.
The team of Reggie and Franck Muller definitely hit it out of the ballpark with the new pieces and Yankees lovers are going to want to get one of these fast because they are being built in limited editions only. There are three models in the collection: Two watches are Center Seconds pieces and one is a chronograph. Even better: two feature vivid Yankees colors — blue rubber straps against a titanium case with blue bezels and white dials with blue pinstripes and red accents. Great touches: Reggie’s number “44” instead of the typical “4” and red, white and blue hands.
The Reggie Jackson Chronograph is a titanium model created in 25 pieces only and retailing for $20,300. It houses the 8900CC self-winding caliber with 228 components and 27 jewels. The watch offers hours, minutes, small seconds at 9:00, date at 6:00 and 30-minute counter at 3:00. This striking model is offset with a blue rubber strap, bezel and pinstriped dial.
There are two Center Seconds watches: a 100-piece series in titanium with the Yankees colors (retailing for $10,300) and an 18-karat rose gold and black version with a guilloche’ dial created in a 25-piece set (retailing for $16,000). These watches house the self-winding 8900SC mechanical movement that offers hours, minutes and seconds in the center. It offers a date at 6:00 and a platinum rotor. The 158-part caliber, with 21 jewels, beats at 28,000 vibrations per hour. The dial features a cellulose varnish with appliqué’ numerals.
