Hublot partners with Jay-Z for a new mini collection of ‘Shawn Carter by Hublot’ watches
The daring Hublot brand has announced an exclusive partnership with Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter to create two limited edition timepieces. Carter is a rapper, record producer and entrepreneur. The collection will launch late next month at Barney’s New York — via Barney’s ‘A New York Holiday’ and at Hublot Boutiques.
Carter has worked closely with Hublot to custom design two watches from the brand’s Classic Fusion line that best represent his style. The timepieces are part of a new Hublot Shawn Carter Collection that will include three additional luxury pieces: a travel humidor, cognac and fragrance.
The new Shawn Carter by Hublot watch is being offered in either black ceramic or 3N yellow gold .
The ‘Shawn Carter by Hublot’ 45mm timepieces, both on black alligator straps, are created in an exclusive 3N 18-karat yellow gold version limited to 100 numbered pieces, and in a black ceramic version limited to 250 numbered pieces. Each watch features a coordinate ceramic or 3N gold bezel with vertical satin finish, 6 H-shaped titanium screws, countersunk, polished and locked, and a sapphire crystals and caseback with double antireflective coating. The dial features either a matt black or 3N gold plated with appliqués and an open-worked Shawn Carter logo at the center, which reveals the Classico HUB1300 hand-wound skeleton movement. The movement features 123 components, 23 jewels and offers 90 hours of power reserve. The gold version retails for $33,900, while the ceramic model is more affordable at $17,900.
