Bremont Alt1-c stainless steel
Bremont is adding a new option under the Alt1-C line up, the Alt1-C/PW, which is a specially hardened, polished stainless steel chronograph and a follow up to 2013’s success Alt1-C Rose Gold edition. The stainless steel edition also draws inspiration from the stainless steel Bremont Victory released in 2012.
For those unfamiliar with the line and brand, Nick and Giles English founded Bremont in 2002 and is a brand focused on highlighting Britain’s rich aviation history through horology. For the Alt line, the alt stands for altimeter and the C for classic. The dial, which is a two-register chronograph, is based off of the design of the multi-use combat airplane the de Havilland Mosquito, which served the British military during the Second World War. The two registers track 60 seconds and 30 minutes. The crown, which features the company logo of a propeller, is made to always align with the case when screwed down.

As stated, the PW is polished 3136L stainless steel that has gone through an additional hardening process. The metal is heated, diffused with carbon and then has electrons passed through the steel. The end result is a case that is approximately 7 times harder than the stainless steel used in most watchcases. This is the first time the hardening process has been used on polished case and looks phenomenal.
The watch houses an automatic movement with 42 hours of power reserve. It is COSC chronometer tested and certified and is water resistant to 10 ATM. The stainless steel option was extremely well received in the Victory model and after viewing the Alt1-C, we are sure the reception will be the same. While not a limited run, a limited number will be produced every year, with the newest pieces making their way on the scene later this month.
