We opened this week with a feature about the newest Ferrari and Lamborghini cars just unveiled in Geneva. Now, we want to introduce you to the cool new Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Red Magic Carbon timepiece – because at just $32,100 retail it is a lot more attainable than the car. What’s more- you don’t have to leave it parked in a garage.
This newest watch features a case and movement designed developed and produced totally in house at the Hublot manufacture. The UNICO movement offers a flyback chronograph that can be reset at any time. It features two pushbuttons and a date indicator and offers its column wheel format visible from the sapphire case back. The 330-part movement features an hour counter driven directly by the barrel, with no jumper in the chronograph mechanism. Its pallet fork and escapement wheel are fixed to a removable platform and are made from silicon, whose lightness provides optimal performance. The case is created using a multi-layer carbon fiber principle wherein carbon fiber sheets are stacked, pressed and oven baked (with up to 12 sheets of carbon fiber for the thickest part) for ultimate strength. The sapphire crystal dial has been technically colored red by adding chemical components during the development of the crystal material. The watch is offered with two straps, in black or red leather stitched onto black rubber for great comfort and durability. And – with a hint of imagination – looks almost as good as the Ferrari car.
