Cartier In Motion London Exhibit Picks

Don’t miss the opportunity to see some of the finest timepieces ever made by Cartier — the Cartier in Motion exhibit that openedat the London Design Museum in late May — curated by Norman Foster — is open until July 28th. The exhibit includes timepieces from the early 20th century to present day and explores the shapes and design evolution of Cartier watches in the context of the art, architecture and design of their times. Below we bring you a slideshow of just a few key pieces on display at the Cartier in Motion exhibit.

Curated by Norman Foster, the exhibition explores the creativity of Cartier and design. There are 170 pieces on exhibit from the Cartier Collection, as well as pieces on loan from the Collection of the Monaco Princely Palace Collection, the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace at Le Bourget airport and the Rockefeller Center in New York. There are six main themes: evolution of Paris, Louis Cartier’s affiliation with Santos-Dumont and other pioneers of the time, modern wristwatches, accessories and mystery and skeletonized craftsmanship.
