Richard Mille has teamed with the Education Above All foundation (EAA), a global organization established to promote global social and political development through quality education, and created a new nearly $800,000 diamond encrusted watch. All proceeds of the sales of the watch will support Out-of-School Children (OOSC) globally through EAA’s Educate a Child programme (EAC) projects.
EAC works to overcome barriers to education, providing quality primary education to hard to reach, out of school children with the goal of ensuring every child successfully completes an entire cycle of quality primary education. Richard Mille has already contributed more than $1 million through previous watch initiatives with EAA.
This time he has designed a very limited edition of only three special RM 51-05 Oryx Tourbillon Watches that have the EAC logo printed on their sapphire case backs. The RM 51-05 Tourbillon Oryx, is a tribute to the antelope native to the Arabian Peninsula and Africa. An enduring symbol for the region, the Oryx is the national animal of Qatar. The RM 51-05 Tourbillon Oryx was publicly unveiled for the first time at the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2019 in Qatar in late February 20-25, 2019.
In addition to the Oryx watch custom-made watches, a special Richard Mille Pocket Watch (RM 020 Tourbillon) and Cufflink collection has been produced to support EAC. The Pocket Watch, the Cufflinks and the presentation box all bear the EAC logo and a percentage of the proceeds will be contributed to EAA.
