The Christopher Ward C1 Malvern Jumping Hour watch is offered three versions.
The new Christopher Ward C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour watch features the brand’s distinctive new case design and is an update to the brand’s previous C9 watch designed by Adrian Buchmann, brand senior designer. The case measures 40.5mm in diameter so it fits neatly under the shirt sleeve and jacket but is impressive enough to make a statement. The case is crafted of 316L polished surgical-grade stainless steel with brushed sides. The watch features a curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a domed opalin dial with curved indexes and curved blued hands. The watch is offered with either a steel Milanese mesh bracelet, or a shell Cordovan strap with deployment clasp. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters.
What’s inside the Christopher Ward C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour Watch
Powering the watch is a customized Caliber JJ01 movement. Essentially, it is a modified Sellita SW 200-1 automatic movement with technically advanced modulefor the jump hour. Designed and assembled at Christopher Ward’s Swiss atelier in Biel, the Caliber JJ01 module was developed by Technical Director Johannes Jahnke and offers 28 hours of power reserve. An exhibition case back with engraved serial number on it allows for viewing of the movement. The watch retails for $1,595 and is available via the brand’s website.
