Clase Azul Gold tequila recalls Mexico’s sunsets and features two ribbons of 24-karat gold on the ceramic base.
Gold is no longer just a watch and jewelry material. It has officially joined the tequila ranks. Wars have been fought over it and love declared with it, but now, one spirits company is using gold on a very special bottle in hopes of attracting thirsty customers seeking tequila and a bit of the precious metal. Clase Azul Spirits, which creates Clase Azule Gold Tequila –artisanal tequila from Mexico — is trying to promote Mexico’s beauty and artistry (not to mention its own craftsmanship in the world of spirits) and so is bringing back its 2020 limited edition, which may have been overshadowed by the pandemic in a year where the world basically shut down.
The Clase Azule Gold Tequila Joven tequila is a blend of Clase Azule Plata, Clase Azul Reposado (that ages in French oak casks) and Extra Anejo that ages eight years in repurposed bourbon casks. It is finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for one of the most interesting and diverse tequilas on the market. Not only is the taste intriguing, but the aroma of the sipping tequila is also intoxicating, and runs the gamut from fruits such as apple, orange peel and fig to cocoa and chocolate.
The bottle is made of glass that sits atop ablack ceramic base. The base features two ribbons — one each at the top and bottom — made of 24-karat gold. The new tequila joining the Clase Azul Spirits line up will sell for approximately $300 a bottle. The company motto around this bottle: Taste the Sunset. Aptly inspired by Mexico’s sunsets.
