Today marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Known as Operation Overlord, D-Day witnessed the storming of Allied troops on the banks of Normandy at 6:30 in the morning, and was a key turning point for the allied forces in World War II around. Now, to honor that day and the fallen heroes who gave their lives for freedom, Graham unveils two new Chronofighter timepieces. Additionally, Graham is donating a percentage of the sales of these watches to museums in Normandy that pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.
The Chronofighter Vintage D-Day is a deft blend of bold steel with respectful black with the D-Day message on the dial, while the Chronofighter Vintage Overlord, with combination of army green, beige and cream in a bronze case is more indicative of the era. Each watch is produced in a limited edition of 75 pieces.
Chronofighter Vintage D-Day
The D-Day Commemorative watch features a grained dial with a star at 3:00 that emulates the star used on World War II allied and US Army vehicles. It bears the D-Day inscription on it, as well as “1944, June 6.” The 44mm watch is an automatic chronograph with day and date indication, as well as a fast-action start / stop trigger. The strap is rubber mesh. Just 75 pieces will be made in steel. It retails for $5,950.
The Chronofighter Vintage Overlord
Graham Chronofighter Vintage Overlord watch.
Named for the codename of the entire amphibious operation that consisted of landings on five beaches, Overlord is a 44mm piece in bronze with a khaki/army green dial and strap. The case is satin brushed and recalls the aged metal of war ships. The typeface on the green sandblasted dial is the same as was used on the US Air Force aircraft fuselage and at 6:00 on the dial is an artistic rendition of the Indianhead (emblem of the US army carried by the Second Infantry Division). The watch is finished with a striped fabric strap and retails for $7,450.
