Even though it’s great to show the newest watches just released at shows, those watches don’t usually make it to retail market for months to come. But here we bring you a timepiece that is in stores now and that is a real attention grabber: Zenith Limited Edition El Primero Lightweight. Built of ultra high-tech materials including carbon fiber, titanium and silicon, the watch house the El Primero 4052 W automatic movement with bridges and mainplate made of titanium. Additionally, the double chronograph wheel is made of silicon.
By using these materials for the 334-part movement, Zeniths reduces the weight of the caliber – making it one-quarter lighter than a traditional brass plated movement. The bold 45mm case is crafted of carbon fiber with a checkered pattern – making the watch ultra light weight. Besides being light weight, the watch is rugged enough for any sport and its avant-garde design with red and blue accents and no real dial make it extremely attractive. It is inspired by the first El Primero automatic chronograph, launched in 1969, with integrated construction. Just 100 pieces of the new Lightweight have been made, each retailing for $22,000.
