IWC Schaffhausen PORTUGIESER HAND-WOUND MONOPUSHER EDITION “LAUREUS SPORT FOR GOOD”
Following in its “Laureus Sport for Good” partnership, IWC Schaffhausen releases the all-new “Laureus Sport for Good” Portugieser Hand-Wound Monopusher Edition. The newest timepiece is created in a limited edition of just 500 pieces and features an engraving on the case back of the winning design from the brand’s annual drawing competition. The winning design this year was created by 15-year-old Yl Xin from China who was seeking to portray friendship.Yi, who designed the drawing, is a participant in the “Special Olympics China’ program. This Laureus-supported project offers training in Olympic sports disciplines for children and adults with mental disabilities.
Powered by the IWC-manufactured, hand-wound 59360 caliber, the special edition watch ( the 14th Laureus piece) is a 46mm stainless steel watch with Laureus blue dial and rhodium hands. It features a small seconds dial at 6:00 and power reserve indicator at 9:00. The movement is equipped with eight days of power reserve. The chronograph can be started, stopped and reset with a single push-button that is integrated in the crown. Crafted in steel, the watch features a rich blue dial and a black Santoni alligator strap.
It retails for $16,600.
The case back engraving was designed to evoke a sense of friendship.
