If you are in or close to New York City this week, you may want to take some time to attend the third annual TimeCrafters show at the Park Avenue Armory to get your own close-up look at 15 top luxury watch brands and their superb new luxury watches. Open to the public, TimeCrafters is chocked not only with the newest watches, but also with artisans demonstrating their work, and a few other surprises. Even famed auction house, Christies, will have a collection of vintage timepieces on display for those interested in beginning their foray into vintage watches.
The luxury watch brands participating this year include A. Lange & Sohne, Audemars Piguet, Bulgari, Chopard, Christophe Claret, DeBethune, Frederique Constant, Hublot, HYT, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Parmigiani, Richard Mille, TAG Heuer, Urwerk, Zenith. Highlights: Jaeger-LeCoultre offers an exclusive premiere of its Hybris Artistica collection of 12 special watches (including the Hybris Mechanica 11) that define haute horology and creativity; A. Lange & Sohne brings the Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar Terrluna to the USA for the first time; Audemars Piguet shows off its newest Royal Oak Offshore collection, including the chronograph in royal blue and the platinum chronograph with ceramic details.
A host of seminars will also take place, including a panel discussion on Trends in watches and how to build a watch collection. The exhibit opens on Friday May 16 and runs through Sunday. Register on line at TimeCrafters for $10, or purchase you ticket at the door for $20.
