The stunning Object of Art and purpose embraces Harry Winston’s New York roots and its high-jewelry spirit. The evening bag is set with 486 diamonds weighing 36.67 carats, 3.22 carats of emeralds and 1.62 carats of rubies against a black background in a design meant to emulate the New York skyline at night. The rubies and emeralds form the streetlights of the City that Never Sleeps. At the top of the bag, the black onyx closure can be moved aside to reveal a tiny timepiece also bedecked in diamonds.
Open the evening bag and New York’s architecture awaits in yet another fashion: a mother-of-pearl marquetry of sky scrapers amidst a vanity mirror. The Art-Deco-inspired bag is a one-of-a-kind piece designed to express Harry Winston’s creativity, craftsmanship and luxurious whimsy.The retail price of the high-jeweled handbag with secret watch was not disclosed by Harry Winston, but with more than 40 carats of gemstones, you know it carries a hefty sum.
