As many of you know, Roberta Naas, ATimelyPerspective’s founder, also reviews women’s watches for the great watch blog, Monochrome-Watches. Earlier this month, she reviewed a watch from the brand that could go either way- for men or women: the Armin Strom Cameleon Manual Watch. You can read the entire review, complete with technical specifications, on Monochrome-Watches.
However, here we bring you a quick look at the timepiece because this is one exceptional watch that warrants coverage time and again. One of the special things about this watch is that it is a specially configured watch, created using the brand’s all-new “Watch Configurator.” With the configurator, customs can choose their own watch case, component colors, and so much more. You can play around with the watch configurator by visiting the configurator site.
So, the thing i loved most about this watch, which is offered in steel or titanium, is — well — almost everything. However, the color entranced me. The deep aquamarine mainplate and components — with their superb finishings — just captures the eye and won’t let go.
Offering hours, minutes and small seconds with bright white chapter rings, the watch is a study of sophistication and allure. The 43.4mm case sits nice on on the wrist thanks to the curved lugs and the blue alligator strap with white stitching is the perfect finish. Of course, you can select any color strap — or main plate, gears, wheels or other components in the color of your choice – orange, purple, green or even rainbow shades altogether.
Because we are huge fans of this brand and it’s timepieces, you will find a few articles on this site that demonstrate the philosophy and direction of this independent Swiss brand. With skeletonized watches as a speciality – Armin Strom is all about showing off its movements. The company also creates watches in multiple case materials that align with the elements: Earth (black PVD cases), Air (titanium), Water (steel), Fire (18-karat rose gold). The Armin Strom Manual Cameleon watch I borrowed was the Air – a satin-finished titanium case that is super light weight. It retails for $12,900. The steel version retails for $9,900 — but prices will vary depending on what you decide to choose in the configurator. But as seen here, these are the prices for the Armin Strom Cameleon Manual.
