RM028 Diver’s St. Barth
Last week, we mentioned that we had been sailing with Richard Mille in the Les Voiles De Saint Barth 2013 regattas, and even brought you a close up look at one of the cool watches we had access to (see post). Now, we bring a look at the brand’s involvement with this race and the watch created to honor it.
Richard Mille served as principal sponsor of Les Voiles de St. Barth sailing regatta for the fourth consecutive year – awarding the winner of the Maxi-Yacht category of boats the ultimate grand prize: a Richard Mille RM 028 Automatic dive watch.

First – the sailing. It was amazing—with warm and intensely blue Caribbean waters, the tropical background and intense racing with more than 60 yachts and 800 sailors from around the globe participating. The last day of the race didn’t disappoint, as there were high winds and high seas, making it anyone’s win. Even, Richard Mille had a vested interest this year, as the brand had the Jolt participating (a boat owned by the brand’s Middle Eastern distributor). In the end, though, in the Maxi Yachts class, the Swan 80 Selene was victorious, and the owner was awarded a Richard Mille RM 028 diver’s watch in titanium at the award ceremony.
The last day of the regatta was a windy one with high seas and lots of action
The RM028 Diver’s watch is a high-performance timepiece featuring a unidirectional rotating bezel and complying with the ISO 6425 standard for diver’s watches — water-resistant to 300 meters (30 ATM). The watch is perfectly water resistant thanks to the unique tripartite construction of the case and bezel, completed by lugs incorporated into the case assembly. The skeletonized automatic movement of the RM 028 is equipped with a variable geometry rotor, an exclusive Richard Mille concept that adapts the automatic winding of the watch to the activity of the user using two white-gold wings.
