Ulysse Nardin is synonymous with underwater adventure. This brand has been creating marine chronometers since its inception in 1846 and continues today to enhance its relationship with all things marine and nautical. As such, it comes as no surprise that its most recent unveiling — a sleek 42mm Diver — is equipped to weather the elements with its adventurous wearer. The new 42mm Diver models join the brand’s lineup of 44mm pieces, but more easily transition from water to land.

The new Diver watches are available on a leather strap, with a three-row stainless steel bracelet, or — for the first time ever for Ulysse Nardin — on a fantastic Milanese mesh bracelet. Inspired by the brand’s 1964 Diver Le Locle dive watch, the new 42mm Diver features a concave bezel and domed sapphire crystal, and have a vintage appeal with a clean dial, beige accents, and a central second hand instead of a small second counter. Also on the dial are the GPS coordinates of Le Locle, Switzerland — Ulysse Nardin’s home town.

Naturally, the watch is equipped with all the essential diver codes: Superluminova on the hands, unidirectional rotating bezel and water resistance to 300 meters. The watch is powered by the UN-816 mechanical self-winding movement made in-house by the brand. It is equipped with silicon technology, and offers 42 hours of power reserve. There are seven versions the watch with either black or blue dial, but the star of the series is the Diver Blue Shark Limited Edition watch in steel with a blue PVD bezel, blue dial with orange accents and blue shark stampede note casebook. Just 300 pieces of this watch will be made. The Ulysse Nardin Diver 42mm timepieces range in price from 5,800 Euro to 6,500 Euro, with the BlueShark selling for 6,800 Euro.
