Well show season came around fast in the watch world, even though this year’s BaselWorld is substantially later than in previous years. It is later because the exhibition halls were all being rebuilt, and redesigned –complete with incredibly exciting new exhibition booths from many of the top watch brands.
With BaselWorld being the single largest and most important watch exhibition of the year — excitement runs high. Everyone is poised this year not only to see the newest and most dramatic new timepieces being unveiled to the world, but also to see the changes in the halls. Many brands hired architectural firms and top designers to create their booth space, while others decided to focus on product and wait out the booth changes until the following year (maybe to actually witness what others have done this year).
Top questions for the redesigned halls and booths that many regulars want to know: Will Breitling still have its entire wall aquarium, complete with fish shipped in from the Mediterranean?, Will Ulysse Nardin still have its iconic ship-style exhibition space?, What in the world will Rolex do?, where will anyone go to get outside air?and — of course– will all the bars still be there?
Since we are leaving now for BaselWorld — we will bring you all the answers and more. Beginning tomorrow- we will be deilvering all the hot new products on the market, and for a few interesting twists on time. Stay tuned.
