Jaeger-LeCoultre has long been involved in the world of film. The brand regularly sponsors and partners with Film Festivals around the world. Sometimes, too, the brand unveils special timepieces in celebration of that relationship. Such is the case with three recently unveiled Limited Edition Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous watches for women. These stunning watches (created in honor of the Venice IFF) are works of art and elegance — with each offering a different metiers d’ arts dial. The brand’s Rare Handcrafts workshops turns out three Rendez-Vous Sonatina watches that are at once romantic and seductive. Each is being created in a limited edition of just eight pieces.
Each Rendez-Vous Sonatina Large (38.2mm)watch is crafted in pink gold and includes the ability to set a “star” on the dial that will indicate a future rendezvous and will delicately chime the time when it arrives. Additionally, the watch offers a day/night indication via a sun and moon flower-shaped aperture at 6 o’clock. Powering this watch is the Jaeger‑LeCoultre 735 Calibre with automatic winding.
Each watch features a blend of delicate artistry that includes guilloche’, painting on mother of pearl, and gem setting. Each mother-of-pearl dial is decorated by hand with a guilloche’ motif, after which thin layers of paint are added one at time. Birds and other elements are covered with clear lacquer for added depth and shimmer. Because each dial is hand made by individual artisans, each is a unique work of art. The bezel of each watch is adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds and a thin line of diamonds adorns the dial flange. Finally, diamonds are added to the case side.
