Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin 1907
This year’s SIHH was a little like war. The fight was on for the thinnest timepiece on record and many achieved a great new slim. We’ve mentioned a few of them already since SIHH started, but today- we bring you the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin. This not-so-simple hours and minutes watch is created in two new versions that continue to honor the brand’s founder (as did the first Master Ultra Thin Jubilee in 2011): the Master Ultra Thin 1907 and the Grand Feu.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu
The extra-slim pink gold case of the Master Ultra Thin 1907 watch has such a slim profile that it rivals a half dollar – with the half dollar coming out a bit larger. Indeed, the extremely elegant and classic looking 39mm case measures just 4.05 mm in thickness. It houses the 1.8mm thin manually wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 849, comprised of 123 parts and offers 35 hours of power reserve. The grained white dial with baton-type makers reinforces the classic appeal of the timepiece.The 1907 will retail for approximately $18,600 and be available sometime in June.

Also not available until June, the Master Ultra Thin Grand Feu is powered by the same ultra-slim movement. The watch is crafted in 18-kara white gold with a gold dial finished in Grand Feu enamel – a technical that involves firing the dial at very high temperatures (800 to 900 degrees Celsius) to set the multi-layers of enameling. The craftsmanship involved in its making naturally drives the price a bit higher — at about $40,900 retail. This watch is slightly thicker than the 1907 version because a little more space was needed to accommodate the multiple layers of enamel on the dial. It measures 5.04 mm in thickness. Still, so thin it is like having a half-dollar on the wrist – but much better.
