Horological Machine N°9, also lovingly known as ‘Flow’, is a uniquely shaped timepiece inspired by the dynamic allure of mid-20th-century aerodynamic and automotive designs. The first HM9 Flow watches were unveiled to the world in two 33-piece titanium editions (Air and Road) just about one year ago. You can read full details here. Now, the brand unveils HM 9 Flow Red Gold also in Air (with aviation-inspired dial) and Road (with speedometer style dial) versions, but of just 18 pieces each.
In addition to having different dial styles, these two HM 9 Flow Red Gold versions also feature either a blackened movement and rhodium-plated balance wheels ( for the Air version), or a rhodium-plated movement with red gold balance wheels for the Road version.
As a brief reminder, the HM 9 features a highly complex manual winding movement with two Independent balance wheels that beat at a leisurely speed of 2.5Hz (18,000 vph). There is one balance wheel on each flank, visible under the elongated sapphire crystals. Visible via the center sapphire crystal is a planetary differential that averages the power output of the two balance wheels to provide one stable reading of the time. The newest HM9 Red Gold Flow retails for $198,000.
