Luxury design house Felio Siby is entering the haute horology market with a trio of limited-edition time pieces that each feature a corresponding powerhouse lifestyle brand ambassador: top ranked tennis player Tomas Berdych, Brazilian Formula One race car driver Felipe Nasr and UK based Sahara Force India F1 racing team. Filio Siby was launched in 2013 in Miami by Gabon, Africa, native Dominique Siby who sought to create unique designer shirts, jackets, bags, shoes and accessories for men, as well as a line of bags, shoes and accessories for women. In the creation of the fashion line, exotic materials are the norm, including crocodile, python, bull shoulder and ostrich as signature materials that help capture the decadence and uniqueness of the brand.

The three limited edition watches that have been crafted are largely the same in their dial layout, design elements and overarching theme which is human ingenuity and precision engineering with an Avant-garde flair. The difference in the three pieces largely comes from both the color pallet used and materials that compose the pieces. The cases are tonneau shaped, though Felio Siby refers to them as turtle shaped, and they are made in titanium with a crocodile facade. Each iteration of the watch features a 0.2 carat single GIA certified diamond insert. The 1 and the 7 are raised and finished in rose gold with a Felio Siby insert at the 12 o’clock position. All of the watches are powered by Vaucher Manufacturer Fleurier Swiss movement and offer a robust 46 hour power reserve. Each watch will be a limited edition run of 100 pieces.
The Tomas Berdych by Felio Siby was designed with input from the tennis player, who also has a life long love for horology. The piece is done in an electric blue with distinctive finishes on the hands, the raised 1 and 7 and inner circular dials that compliment the azure face. The custom watch strap is done in a distinctive blue material that complete the theme.
The Filipe Nasr Watch by Felio Siby is a partnership with Brazil’s leading driver and the British Formula 3 and Formula BMW European champion. The watch was designed entire by Dominque Siby. The watch features a sporty black and red design with the goal of evoking the look and feel of a high performance dashboard. The trade mark mounted 1 and 7 as well as the outline of the three inner circular dials and hands of the watch all feature the red finish.
The third watch in the limited edition release is the Sahara Force India Watch and is the first Formula One team to be endorsed by the brand and is the teams official Lifestyle Partner. The partnership debut came at the Monaco Grand Prix in ’16 and the watch is a commemoration of that alliance. The the watch, black and orange has been selected and was done so to reflect the team’s official colors. The 1 and 7, outlines of the two inner circular dials and the watch itself are given a distinctive white finish to help provide contrast to the black “Cotes de Geneve” hexagonal facial engraving. An orange trim has also been added to the outside of the watch face.
A fourth partnership will be announced later this year that will feature the brand working with an as of yet to be named NBA star on the Miami Heat. All of the watches are light weight and weigh in at around 80 grams. They retail for $135, 000.
Editor’s Note: We want to acknowledge the fact that this watch design looks a lot like the Croco line from Franck Muller. However, we do respect Felio Siby’s desire to continue his crocodile and leather goods lines into the world of watches. Perhaps he should have opted for a round or other-shaped case.
