Men – don’t leave this post thinking it is not for you. If there is a woman out there you love, read on. Women, this is all about beauty, elegance and the perfect fragrance. We were very privileged a couple of weeks ago to meet with one of the leading USA-based perfume houses: The House of Sillage.
Based in California, this brand – run by a woman – does everything right – from creating its fragrances in France, to hand-making and crafting some of the most stunning perfume bottles on the market. The House of Sillage offers several distinctive fragrances in bottles that are equally as alluring and entrancing. In
addition to its regular line, the brand has created a series of one-of-a-kind cylinders to house its fragrances. Each is being made successively until 10 have been finalized. The first in the series is a stunning gold cylinder bedecked with an emerald- and diamond- adorned Gecko. The travel bottle holds 7.5 ml of spray and comes with one of each of the brand’s six different fragrances, along with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is packaged in a beautiful Birdseye Maple Lacquered gift box. It retails for $118,000.
Wait- men – don’t leave yet. There are more affordable perfumes. This particular one-of-a-kind 18-karat gold bottle of travel spray just boasts incredible workmanship and mega carats of real diamonds and gemstones. Inspired by a tropical evening in the South Pacific, the emerald green gecko climbing an exotic vine boasts 665 real gemstones , including a center emerald round that is larger than 2 carats and a diamond vine embellished with more than 4 carats of round diamonds.
Indeed, the house of Sillage pays homage to the artistry, traditions and craftsmanship in the perfume world, coupling it with timeless artistry in the form of the bottle. Among the limited edition pieces: Tiara, a bottle ensconced with blue and white Swarovski crystals emulating a tiara; Cherry Garden, with Swarovski crystals and enamel flower and butterfly adorning the bottle top; Love is in the Air,
with sterling silver carved love birds atop the bottle designed with Swarovski crystals to look like a birdcage. There are several others. My personal favorite is the Emerald Reign – an onyx and crystal tiger sitting atop the bottle with emerald eyes bespeaking the mystery and intrigue of the magnificently blended scent. Each bottle is filled with one of the brand’s alluring scents that accurately reflect the bottle design. These perfumes retail for somewhere over $1,000 each.
It gets better, too, for those who don’t want to spend too much on a fragrance, there is also a signature line, with exquisite bottles but less decorated and the same great fragrances. These retail in the hundreds.
I wonder what these perfumes smell like, that’s some serious money
