Welcome to the first edition of Storage Wars 2016 — based on the SIHH exhibition and a few independent brands exhibiting in Geneva. Every year we embark on trips to find the most exciting timepieces on the market — and we come home with a wealth of information and images. All of that info is stored, brand by brand, in a single place. Typically, that places is a USB key.
As such, many watch brands go to the trouble of making creative USBs. We’ve covered this subject here before, but now we bring you the Innovative USB winners of SIHH 2016. These are the brands that gave us fun, cool or interesting powerful thumb drives. And this year’s winners are:
MB&F, with its cool Sherman Happy Robot USB that emulates the brand’s very cool new clock (we will bring you more about that clock here soon).
Vacheron Constantin, with its gold rotor USB that is a hefty piece of art and recalls the brand’s oscillating weight.
Baume & Mercier with its thin “Life is about Moments” bracelet. The USB key hangs from the bracelet like a charm. Remove it and you’ve got a trendy steel bangle.
Runners up come from a couple of independent brands that showed outside the SIHH:
Manufacture Royale, which had Zoltan the fortune teller to predict the future at its luxurious exhibition space, offers the great lightbulb USB. Need we say more?
Louis Moinet, who has been featured before in our storage wars, again wins with its lifelike Chronograph pocket watch USB.
